Where does the data come from?

Contract Scout pulls directly from SAM.gov's public Opportunities API — the same database that contracting officers post to. We check it daily and filter it for you.

What certifications do you support?

WOSB (Women-Owned Small Business), EDWOSB (Economically Disadvantaged WOSB), VOSB (Veteran-Owned Small Business), SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned), HUBZone, 8(a), and SBA set-asides. You can filter for any combination.

What's a NAICS code and how do I know which ones to use?

NAICS codes are the federal government's way of categorizing industries — every contract is tagged with one. When you register, we help you identify the right codes for your business type. Common examples: 541611 (management consulting), 561110 (office admin services), 541512 (IT services).

Do I need to be registered on SAM.gov to use Contract Scout?

No — you can use Contract Scout to research the market before you're registered. But you'll need an active SAM.gov registration before you can actually respond to any contracts. We'd recommend getting that process started early since it takes 2–4 weeks to process.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees. Cancel from your account settings and your subscription ends at the close of your current billing period.
